How Do I Join the Tour?
You do not have to be a PGA Member, or at this time, you do not
have to attend a qualification school. Simply fill out the current
year's membership application and return with the membership fee
to the Tour Office. (click for membership
application)
What
if I earn entry into a PGA Champions Tour event through Monday
Qualifying or my alternate status after I pay my SST Tour tournament
entry fee?
You will receive a full refund.
Am
I Allowed to wear other Sponsor Logos?
Yes, however, depending on Tour apparel contracts, you may have
to have it embroidered on Tour sponsor's apparel (check with Tour
office.) It will be mandatory that players conform to the Tour’s
policy of Player Attire.
Are
There Any Other Opportunities To Make Money?
Yes, depending on notoriety and status. Opportunities may be offered
through Shootouts, Pro-Ams and Long Drive Contests at tournaments;
as well as Clinics. Also Speaking Engagements, and Company Endorsements.
Is
Lodging Included in Fees?
No, but the Tour usually lists on the "entry information
sheet" lodging choices that are convenient to the courses.
Can
I walk or do I have to take a cart?
Carts are mandatory and are included in each entry fee.
How do my family members keep track of my progress?
Players scores are posted on the Tour website at the conclusion
of each event. Daily scores are not available as yet.
When
is prize money paid?
Prize money is mailed to the player's address of record within
3 calendar days.
Do
I Have To Pay To Play in Pro/Ams?
Players are selected from the money list. They do not pay an entry
fee and usually receive a meal. Prizes may vary from a pro skins
game, individual pro purse, team purse, or appearance fee; or
in many cases, players receive no remuneration, but participate
to support the event sponsors and charitable causes.
Are
All The Tournaments 54 Holes?
Yes, they are all scheduled for 54 holes, but inclement weather
may shorten an event. A full purse is paid as long as 18 holes
are completed by all players. There is no refund for a weather
shortened event.
May
I bring my caddy?
Players are not required to have a caddie, but have the option
to have one should they elect. Although the player may have to
be responsible for his caddie at times.... Each player is solely
responsible for arranging and paying for their own caddie. Caddies
may ride in carts when space is available. Note: Professionals
who bring accompanying friends or relatives, must inform the Tournament
Director whether they will be acting as a caddie, or as an observer.
Do
I Have To Pay For Practice Rounds?
Occasionally practice rounds are included in the tournament entry
fee and is noted on the entry form. At other times, a discounted
rate is offered to members. Note: There is no official practice
day, so players must make their own arrangements for tee times.
Dress
Code
Slacks and collared shirts are required for all rounds including
practice, pro/am, and tournament. Metal spikes are not allowed.
Course Yardage
Seniors will play at a length of 6500-6800 yards.
Super-seniors (55+) and amateurs will play at a length approximately
5% - 8% shorter.
